Who we are.
What we do.
At its core, EthiCoLab is an ethical collaboration — between us and you — to reimagine how research ethics is understood and practiced across New Zealand and Australia. Our mission is not only to simplify processes, but to strengthen the skills, systems, and confidence of those who shape the research ethics environment.
Our team is made up of seasoned research ethics professionals who have worked within and alongside leading universities and public institutions across Australasia. Collectively, we bring experience as:
-
Committee Members and Chairs guiding complex project assessments.
-
Secretariat Officers and Managers with deep expertise in application review and governance.
-
System Administrators who have overseen the implementation and use of online ethics portals.
With expertise spanning bioethics, law, health, governance, and research methodology, we understand not just the regulations, but how research knowledge can be clearly communicated, interpreted, and applied in practice.
We work with researchers, committees, and secretariats to build capability, transform processes, and foster collaboration across the ethics ecosystem. Our goal is to shift perceptions of ethics review from a compliance hurdle to a valuable framework that strengthens research quality and integrity.
We are here for clear skies ahead in Research Ethics practice.
